Elon Musk’s daughter doesn’t know how many children there are

Vivian Wilson, the transgender daughter of billionaire Elon Musk, doesn’t know how many half-siblings she has and doesn’t have a close relationship with them.

“I have four siblings with my mother,” Vivian Wilson, 20, one of billionaire Elon Musk’s 14 children with four women, said in an interview posted on March 20. “But if you include half-siblings, I don’t know how much I have. This is a pretty funny fact.”

Vivian is one of five children of Musk and his ex-wife Justine Wilson. They had their first son, Nevada Alexander, in 2002, but he died when he was just 10 weeks old. The couple later had five more children, including twins Vivian and Griffin, and twins Kai, Saxon and Damian, who are now 19.

According to Vivian, she had no contact with her father’s girlfriends or other children, and neither did her mother. “My mother is divorced. I really don’t care what they do, it’s not my job. I saw X once, when he was very young,” she added.

Asked if he had a good relationship with his children, Wilson said, “It’s hard to answer.”

Wilson was born Xavier Alexander Musk, transgender in 2020. In 2022, Wilson filed a petition in California state court to change his mother’s surname, saying that he “does not want to have a kinship relationship with his biological father in any way.” According to Vivian, her father was often away from home and often reprimanded her for her gender when she was a child.

Musk divorced Wilson in 2008. In 2020, after two years of dating, Musk and Grimes announced that they had welcomed their first child, X Æ A-12. They had two more children, the girl Exa Dark Sideræl and the boy Techno Mechanicus before breaking up.

Vivian said she only found out that Grimes’ stepmother had given birth to her second baby after reading the Reddit post. “There was a time when Grimes and I didn’t really communicate because I didn’t contact anyone in the family, and it still is,” Vivian said.

During this time, Musk secretly dated Shivon Zilis, the director in charge of special projects at Neuralink – a company he co-founded and welcomed twins Strider and Azure. They welcomed another daughter, Arcadia, in February 2024.

Vivian only knew about Zilis when their story was made public in the press. “I didn’t know anything before,” she said.

In February 2025, writer Ashley St. Clair revealed that she and Musk also had a baby. Musk has not confirmed this information so far. Zilis also announced that she and Musk had secretly welcomed their fourth child, baby boy Seldon Lycurgus, but did not say when they would be born.

Elon Musk has often expressed his views on the risk of declining birth rates and said that this is the biggest threat to human civilization. He said he always encourages his friends to have more children. When the news of the twins with Zilis was revealed, he explained on X that he was “doing his best to help deal with the population decline crisis”.
