A luxury hotel owned by tennis legend Sir Andy Murray and his wife Kim has reported a significant loss for the latest financial year, although the figures show an improvement on previous years. According to CityAM, the Cromlix Hotel, located near Murray’s hometown of Dunblane in Scotland, posted a loss of £369,045 for the year ending March 2024.
Despite being a substantial loss, it’s an improvement on the previous year’s figure, which stood at a staggering £920k. The five-star establishment last turned a profit back in 2022, when it was up £416k for the year. Wimbledon champion Murray purchased the 15-room estate in 2013, splashing out nearly £2million. Alongside his wife Kim, he recently launched the hotel’s own brand of gin, created with ingredients sourced from the hotel grounds.
The couple collaborated with craft gin maker Wildfire Gin to produce Cromlix Gin, which includes raspberry leaf and milk thistle from the hotel garden and is made with water from a borehole on the property.
Murray’s brother Jamie – an esteemed doubles player and Grand Slam champion in his own right – celebrated his wedding at the venue, and their grandparents have also marked their wedding anniversaries there, reports Wales Online.
The hotel, nestled within 34 acres of private grounds and woodland, boasts 10 bedrooms, five suites and a one-bedroom lodge, as well as its own private chapel, tennis court, pickleball court and a restaurant helmed by an award-winning chef. Room rates typically range from £350 to £950 per night, according to KAYAK.

Kim recently spoke about the hurdles involved in managing the hotel, stating: “We’d finished having children and we’d finished building our house, so it seemed the perfect time. Having little kids has been all-consuming.
“Renovating the hotel has enabled me to come out of motherhood and create something different. I think of it as a family project. Maybe in 15 years, the kids will be interested in it. I want to see where it takes us.”
Murray himself will likely have more time to focus on such ventures, as he called time on his illustrious two-time Wimbledon-winning career in the summer of 2024, after the Paris Olympics.
