Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are cutting their U.S. ties, one home at a time.
The former daytime talk show host, 67, and her wife, 52, have sold their recently listed West Hollywood, Calif., home. Listed for $4,995,000, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom Spanish bungalow spans 1,691 square feet and is near the beloved Butterfly Beach.
The property was listed for sale and went into escrow on Thursday, March 20. A representative from Riskin Partners Estate Group, who curated the sale, told PEOPLE that they received “multiple offers within two days of hitting the market” on the listing and ultimately sold it for $5.2 million.

Located in the Montecito area, the intimate coastal hideaway is designed for tranquil relaxation. As described by its listing, the “spa-like” bathrooms that face two walls of windows to a private courtyard, a private terrace, and an enclosed patio offer guests calming indoor-outdoor experiences throughout the property.
According to Architectural Digest, the midcentury-modern home — built in 1954 and remodeled in 2012 — was originally purchased by the couple in 2021 for $2.9 million, making it the third property she and de Rossi purchased in the Montecito area within a year.

Other notable features of the beachside home include the chef-style kitchen with limestone countertops and cherry wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, floor-to-ceiling glass doors and the soundproof acoustic fencing around the property (to reduce outside noise).
The sale comes just four months after the couple took up permanent residency in Europe.

As reported by PEOPLE, DeGeneres and de Rossi relocated to the U.K. countryside of Cotswolds in late 2024. A source at the time told the publication that DeGeneres was house hunting in late October and made the move after “finding a house she loved.”
As a well-known collector of impressive real estate, the latest sale is not out of alignment for the Emmy winner.

In a 2023 issue of The Riv, a local outlet, DeGeneres shared that she has bought and sold over 50 houses. “I don’t really travel a lot. So, house flipping is my version of travel,” she said at the time. “With house flipping, the scenery changes though I stay in the same general area. Only in a new place and from a new perspective.”
